31DC2014 - Animal Print: Rainbow Butterfly Mani

I said that I would only do this 31DC2014 challenge every 2-3 days, but the theme has come that I would never want to miss out. Today's theme is 'Animal Print' and I had this mani in mind for 4 months!

 This mani is inspired by my lovely friend Karolyn at Nails of Aquarius. She showed her butterfly mani during the MoYou contest in May (you can see her mani here) and I was totally convinced that I needed this plate in my life. I wasn't really into leadlighting back then, but was so fascinated by the effect it created. 

 For this mani, I started off with JOSS Crystal Sunbeams and stamped a butterfly pattern from MoYou London Pro 05 XL using Mundo de Uñas Black. I then leadlighted with three of my homemade jellies (shown here) plus Nfu-Oh JS033. Pointer and pinkie are painted with TiNS the dreamy magic that was kindly gifted by my dear friend coppi. The pink studs come from a rhinestone wheel sent by Harunouta aka Born Pretty Store. You can find my product review here. My 10% off code for the store is 'CPM10'.  This was super quick mani, yet I so love the result!! I only used 4 jellies but because the colours blend, it looks rainbowy. I would like to thank Karolyn for the inspiration!

今日の31DC2014チャレンジのテーマは「アニマル柄」。連続でテーマをやるつもりはなかったんですが、今回のはちょっと見逃せないと思いまして。このネイルは「Nails of Acquarius」のKarolynのこちらのネイルがインスパイヤ元。彼女とはMoYouの５月コンテストのときに知り合ったのですが、すぐさま彼女のゴージャスなネイルアートに魅了されました。では出来上がりはこちら。

手に持っているのがこっぴさんからいただいたTiNS the dreamy magic。こんな可愛らしいポリッシュ使ったのいつ振りかなぁ！(ﾟ∀ﾟ) このチョウチョ柄と合わせて正解じゃない？と自画自賛。

このネイル、非常に簡単でした。簡単なのに大満足なネイルは久しぶりです。出来上がりの写真を見て「あれ、こんなに色使ったっけ？」と思ったのですが、自分の動画を見返してみると４色しか色付けに使ってないんですよね。色が混ざってレインボーカラーになったようです。これもLeadlightのいいところですかね(ﾟ∀ﾟ)

さて今回もインスタ動画を用意しましたが、工程間の待ち時間が少ないネイルだったので非常にさくさく気持ちよく撮れました。こんなネイルばっかりだといいんですが^_^;

31DC2014 - Metallics: Smoosh Attack Metallic Mani

One of my stamping buddies over at Instagram, Elle @with2l is having a giveaway celebrating her 2.5K followers and I created this look inspired by her work.

 Elle's works have a very unique effect, and she revealed her secret by this video. She uses two stampers, dabbs nail polish colours onto one, smooshes with another to create thin layers and place it onto nails. She calls this technique 'Smoosh Attack' and I recreated this look using metallics to be an entry for 31DC2014 Day 8 'Metallics'.

 I started off with either Layla Mirror Metallics Metal Chromes or Black as Ebony, and using two stampers & a bunch of metallic polishes I have, I added thin layers of different colours onto my nails. I added some triangle studs from a rhinestone wheel Harunouta sent me, and finished off with inm Out the Door Top Coat.

 I didn't know where to stop because you can build up as many layers as you want with this technique. I feel like I have a piece of contemporary art on my nails! Probably next time I will try with the same colour family to achieve more depth like many of Elle's works.

以前にMani SwapしたElle @with2lがインスタ上で2500フォロワーを達成した記念にGiveawayを開催中です。Elleとは非常に懇意にさせていただいているので、私も参加してみることにしました。参加方法の１つがElleの作品を再現（またはインスパイヤされたネイルを作成）とのことだったので、今回インスパイヤネイルを作ってみました。出来上がりはこちら。

Elleの作品と言えば、幾層にも色が重なった複雑なエフェクトが特徴。みんなして「どうやってやるの？？」と興味津々だったのですが、最近彼女が動画を公開しました。超目からうろこ！

すなわち、スタンパーを２つ使って片方に色を塗り、もう片方でつぶして薄いレイヤー状にして爪に乗せるということです。彼女はこれをSmoosh Attackテクニックと名付けています(ﾟ∀ﾟ) つぶして薄くするのでいくらでもレイヤーを重ねることができます。直接ブラシから塗る場合との違いはそこ。

ベースはLaylaのBlack as EbonyとMetal Chromeを使用。その上にSmoosh Attackで色を重ねていきました。ちょっと抽象画っぽい仕上がりに(ﾟ∀ﾟ) ちなみにメタリックのみを使ったので、今日の31DC2014のお題「Metallic」にもエントリー。

Dotted Flower Stamping Mani with YouTube Tutorial!

I opened a YouTube channel when my lovely friend Louise @louisenails requested a tutorial for a 'ghost rider mani', but I wasn't planning to make any more videos. Since I put the video up though, I've been getting encouraging comments asking for more tutorials so I decided to make another one. I made short Instagram version and the longer YouTube version. I embedded the YouTube version at the end of this post.

 For today's mani, I started off with Sinful Colors Out of This World, then stamped a floral design from MoYou London Pro 06 XL using MoYou London Palatinate Purple. (I used the same pattern for this mani; seriously I can't get enough of this plate!) Then I coloured the petals as dots using a dotting tool. The rest of the process is the same with other advanced stamping technique.

 I quite like the result! It looks pretty intricate but easy to create. I'm always searching for new technique and new look, and I think this one is pretty unique. I'm proud of it :)

 By the way, exactly one year ago today, I received my first stamping plates - Bundle Monster 2010 set - and started my stamping journey. I thought it would be fun to include the 'then' pic to see how my skills progressed :)

今日はなんとまたYouTube動画を用意してみました。インスタグラムの方でLouise @louisenailsから「ゴーストライダーネイルのチュートリアルを作って」とリクエストをもらったときに、これを限りと思って１個作りました。しかしその後、ぽつりぽつりとチャンネル登録してくださる方や「もっと作って」などのコメントをいただくようになりまして。頼まれると断れないのはやっぱり日本人だからですかね。

スタンプネイルのチュートリアルなんて大量に存在するし、どうしようかな～と思っていましたが、今回のネイルは他にはないデザインなのでいっちょ作ってみることにしました。動画は記事の最後に埋め込みましたのでどうぞ興味がある方はご覧ください。まずは写真をどうぞ。

Franken with TKB 'Travel to Jupiter' stamped with Pueen 40

I created this mani almost a month ago, but kept stalling to post. We were having terrible weather at that time, and the photo quality is simply terrible. I'm sick of wandering around in the room trying to catch light to take photos, so I ordered a studio light and a lightbox. Hopefully my frustration with photo shooting will be gone with these toys!

 Anyway, here's the mani. This is the 4th post of TKB 'Travel to' pigment franken series. (I'm determined to swatch all my duochrome frankens before I show you multichrome awesomeness that arrived from Russia.) Here are the links to previous posts:

 I'm showing you 'Travel to Jupiter' franken today. TKB's description says this pigment 'shifts from gold-green fade to soft silver-green to blue'. Again, this franken is simply a mixture of suspension base plus 2 tiny scoops of Travel to Jupiter pigment. The swatch is one thick coat over one-coat black I made previously.

 Under a certain angle, green-blue colour shift shows up pretty well. After I checked what the colour shift is like, I added a zebra pattern from Pueen plate 40 using Mundo de Uñas Peach and Lilac, topped with some pastel studs. 

超久々のTKB Travel toフランケンシリーズ。今回は第４弾、Travel to Jupiterピグメントを使ったフランケンのご紹介です。このネイル、１か月前にしていたものですが写真のクオリティに納得できず、今まで延ばし延ばしになっていました。

Jupiterは木星です。出来上がりはこちら。

one coatブラックを１度塗り、その上にフランケンをたっぷり１度塗り。トップコートあり、室内撮り。ピグメントとボトルショットはこちら。

作り方は前回と同じ。Suspension baseをボトル半分注ぎ、ピグメントをお手製ストローの先っちょに乗せて２杯投入。カラーシフトはこんな感じ。

TKBの説明では「金寄りの緑～シルバー寄りの緑～青」ですが、結局のところ緑ー青のシフトです。

屋外ショット。ほとんど緑しか見えません。

マクロショット。シフトは見えませんが、ゴールド/シルバーのシマーが綺麗です。

最終的にこうなりました。薬指の柄はPueen 40から。Mundo de UñasのPeachとLilacを使ってツートンカラーのスタンピングです。

このウィールはebayで購入したもの。パステル系のスタッズが入ってて見てるだけでほんわかします。

The Neverending Pile Challenge 'Jelly' - Red flakie layered over Revlon Royal

This is my very first challenge mani. I've never done any sort of nail challenge before, but always wanted to. I now joined the 'Neverending Pile Challenge'. Love the name! If anyone would like to join, here is the detail.

 As one of my new year's resolutions was to use as many untried as possible, I thought this challenge would be ideal for me. I only change mani twice every week, so I wouldn't be able to do all the challenges but will do whatever suits me :)

 Today's theme is 'Jelly'. Now, I need to confess - I only have 2 jellies in my stash. Luckily though, both are untried, and I happened to have one on at the time I wrote this post. 

 This mani started off with 2 coats of Revlon Royal, stunning blue jelly, then I layered 2 coats of Nfu Oh red flakie over it. I added rose stamping from Messy Mansion MM20 plate and some gold studs I bought from Born Pretty Store.

 I understand why many bloggers rave about Revlon Royal. Still shows VNL after 2 coats, but so squishy and juicy looking. I used to use black as a base for layering mani all the time, but will certainly use Royal more often.

 More details are shown as a caption for each pic below.

冷やし中華始めました。ではないですが、ネイルチャレンジに参加することになりました。一定のテーマに沿ってネイルするやつです。私が参加したのは「Neverending Pile Challenge」というもの。お題はこんな感じ。


Neverending Pileというのは、「終わりのないポリッシュの山」みたいな意味で、要するにポリッシュをまだ使わないうちからどんどん買って山積み状態になってしまうのを脱して、未使用ポリッシュを積極的に使っていこうよ！というのが趣旨です。

上の画像にあるように、日付の左隣にテーマが書かれています。中２日でテーマが割り振られているのですが、全部やらなくていいらしい。私は週に２度しかブログを書かないので、都合の合うものだけやっていきます。ちなみに今日のテーマ（といっても１日ずれてるけど）は4/16「Jelly」です。

ジェリーポリッシュなんですが、実を言うと２本しか持っていません。そのうち１本を今回使いました。まず第１形態から。

Revlon Royal, 2 coats, no topcoat

Revlon Royal２度塗り。目が覚めるようなロイヤルブルー。トップコートなし。

Sooo squishy! Still shows VNL, but this is ok before layering

綺麗な色っすな～（*´д`*）ﾊｧﾊｧ このRoyal、いろんなブロガーさんが絶賛されているのでつい先日買ってみました。２度塗りでもまだフリーエッジが透けてますが、この上に重ね付けするので３度塗りはしません。

2 coats of Nfu 59 layered over Royal. No topcoat, outdoor shot

第２形態。Royalの上にNfu 59（赤flakie）を２度塗り。トップコートなし。

そして最終形態。翌日にスタッズとスタンピングとトップコートを追加。この柄はMessy Mansion MM２０のプレートの薔薇の柄。大きすぎて薔薇に見えない？（汗）

Nfu Oh 59 colour shifts from red, yellow, orange, to green

個人的にこの末広がり状態の爪画像がキモいんですが（なら載せるなｗ）、一応このNfu ohはカラーシフトします。単なる赤flakieかと思ったら、黄色～オレンジ～緑に偏光。塗るまで気付かなかったよ(ﾟ∀ﾟ;)

Good-bye Summer! Beach Sand mani

I thought it was only a few weeks ago that I was complaining about the heat here. This morning when I got up, it was 8 degrees. I couldn't help but feel that summer is almost gone and autumn is coming.

I regret not doing one single summer nails - I was too busy putting on holographics to make the most of the sun. So here it is, my first summer themed mani this year - beach sand mani.

I recently picked up my first Face of Australia nail polish from Big W. It was on sale and only cost me AUD$3.75. I picked up 'Ferris Wheel', a textured polish, and was itching to use it!

For this mani I did the sponged gradient with Ferris Wheel and Zoya Tomoko, then added some studs and shells. I couldn't believe how the gradient is soo easy with textured polishes! I really need more textured in my life. I only have three.

I love my first summer nail, I miss summer already.

急速に秋の訪れを感じるようになりました。今朝の気温８度。ちょっと前まで４０度超えてなかったっけ？「夏ももう終わりか・・」と寂しい気分になるとともに、夏ネイルを１つもやっていなかったことに気付きました。

今からでも遅くないよね！ってことで今回のテーマは「砂浜ネイル」です。出来上がりはこちら。

右から２番目のポリッシュ、piCture pOlishみたいなボトルですが、Face of Australiaというオージーブランドです。ザリザリ系。

これとZoya Tomokoでスポンジグラデーションしています。ザリザリのグラデーション、超絶楽チンなんですけど！(ﾟ∀ﾟ) 三角スポンジにたっぷり塗って爪に１度ポンポンと付けるだけでしっかり色が乗りました。

いろいろ乗せすぎ？スタッズと貝殻はBorn Pretty Storeで購入。結構前に買ってあったのですが今回初めて使用しました。こんなに大きい突起物を爪に乗せるのは初めて。これはトップコート塗る前なのですぐぽろっと落ちそうですね^_^;

薬指のヒトデはフリーハンドです。Color Club Cosmic Fate（ホロ）を使用。ヒトデ色のオレンジ系ポリッシュが他になくてですね(ﾟ∀ﾟ;)

With topcoat. Still a bit gritty but I like it this way

ザリザリな質感、結構好きなんですがスタッズと貝殻が取れるといけないのでトップコートを追加。波打ち際に転がる貝殻、海面に反射する陽の光・・・（ハワイのビーチを妄想中）

With topcoat, it looks like sun shining on the sea surface. Love! 

それにしてもザリザリポリッシュの汎用性の高さには驚くばかりです。グラデーションにもいいし、スタンピングのベースにもいいし、ザリザリなエフェクトでいろいろ遊べるし。まだ３本しか持ってないんですが、これから積極的に買い足して行こうと思います。

というわけで砂浜ネイル、いかがでしたでしょうか＼(^o^)／ カシスは非常に満足です♪ 夏ネイル、日本の夏の季節にまたやりたいと思います♪( ´▽｀)
