Vintage Bird & Butterfly Mani

I knew what theme I would go for when I received the Moyra plates - Vintage! So this is what I created.

Base is Elcorazon Charm & Beauty 892 (greyish blue) for all nails. I placed a piece of striping tape near the tip (or near cuticles for some fingers) and painted Elcorazon Charm & Beauty 880 (dusty purple) on the divided section. I stamped a swirly pattern on Moyra 05 Vintage using Messy Mansion Soft Gold on the purple part. Then I made some stamping decals out of bird, bird cage, and butterfly from Moyra 05 Vintage & Moyra 14 Moments using Mundo de Unas Dark Gray, and coloured in with Elcorazon Active Biogel 423/277 Cream (light pink). I placed those decals on each nail and finished off with HK Girl topcoat followed by Essie Matte About You.

I'm super happy with how this turned out. Moyra's vintage images are so gorgeous, and I think I chose the right colours for the theme. Few days before Moyra plates got here, I also received my third Elcorazon order, which contained 9 dusty cream polishes. Purple and pink I used here are part of it, and they really arrived at the right time to do this mani.

ベースは全爪Elcorazon Charm & Beauty 892 (グレーがかったブルー)。 爪先（またはキューティクル付近）にラインテープを置き、爪の1/4ほどにElcorazon Charm & Beauty 880 (くすみ紫)を塗る。Moyra 05 Vintageプレートの渦巻き柄を各爪の紫の部分にMessy Mansion Soft Goldでスタンプする。次に、Moyra 05 Vintageと 14 Momentsプレートから鳥、鳥かご、チョウチョをMundo de Uñas Dark Grayでスタンプし、Elcorazon Active Biogel 423/277 Cream (薄ピンク)で色付けしてdecal作成。各爪に乗せてHK GirlトップコートとEssie Matte About Youでフィニッシュ。

ちなみにテーマは「ビンテージ」です。１枚目の写真はマット化したもので、この上の写真はマット化前。マットにすると色が一段柔らかい感じになるのが好きです。ビンテージというテーマにはマットの方があってるかな？と思いそちらを採用。マットにするとdecalの段差が見えにくくなるのもいいですね。

MoyraのVintageとMomentsの各プレートは特にビンテージ風の柄が多いのですが、やっぱりこの２枚は人気があるようですね。Moyraのプレートのみの写真をIGにポストしたら、「ビンテージプレートをどう使いこなすのか楽しみ」というコメントをいくつかいただきましたが、こんなんできましたよ、皆さん～(ﾟ∀ﾟ)

Moyraプレートが届く数日前、Elcorazonの３回目のオーダーも届きました。最初の２回は４か月かかりましたが、今回は1.5ヶ月で到着。今回はくすみ系のクリームばかり９本注文し、この紫とピンクもその一部です。この紫が特にビンテージのテーマにぴったりハマったなぁ。前から持っていたこのブルーもかなりお気に入り♡

全体的にかなり気に入ったネイルでした。あまりウルサイ感じにしたくなくて小指には何も乗せなかったのですが、何か小さいdecal乗せても良かったかな^_^;

Green x Gold Sunray Mani

I created my first design using Pueen Love Box 02 set I did a review on my previous post.

 Middle & ring finger: I started off with base coat. I placed a circle tape from What's Up Nails near cuticle area, then painted the bottom part of the nails with Barry M Christmas Gold. I peeled off the tape and applied topcoat on the gold part. When that's dry, I placed 5 pieces of striping tape on the gold, painted black over them and peeled them off immediately. Then I made a stamping decal out of arched lacy pattern on Pueen Fairytale Lover 02 plate using Hit the Bottle I Wish I were a Mermaid, and coloured in with black polish. I placed the decals on these nails, added a triangle stud I bought in Japan, then finished off with HK Girl topcoat.

 Thumb, pointer & pinkie: I started off with elcorazon Matte & Shine 163. I placed 3 sets of striping tape diagonally on these nails and painted black over them. I peeled the tapes immediately and finished off with topcoat.

 I'm really loving this arched lacey stamp on Pueen plate, and I knew it would make an elegant mani. Stamp, tapes, and studs - This mani has everything I adore.

中指と薬指: ベースコートが乾いたらWhat's Up Nailsの円形テープをキューティクル付近に置き、Barry M Christmas Goldで爪の下半分を塗る。テープを剥がし、ゴールド部分にトップコートを塗る。乾いたらゴールド部分に５本のラインテープを置き、上から黒を塗ってすぐ剥がす。Pueen Fairytale Lover 02のアーチ型のレース模様をHit the Bottle I Wish I were a Mermaidでスタンプし、スタンパー上で黒を塗ってdecal作成。この２本の爪に乗せ、三角スタッズを配置してHK Girlトップコートでフィニッシュ。

親指、人差し指、小指: ベースはelcorazon Matte & Shine 163。ラインテープを３本斜めに置き、上から黒を塗る。テープを剥がしてトップコートでフィニッシュ。

こういうアーチ型のスタンプってあまり持っていないのですが、何かと使いやすくて好きです。前にも似たようなネイルをやっていますが、このときもnegative spaceネイルでしたね。聖パトリック・デーを意識したわけではないですが、今回は緑をチョイス。
Striping tape manis can be messy sometimes, but I'm quite impressed that those lines came out nice and crisp

Hit the BottleのI Wish I Were a Mermaidとelcorazonの緑、なかなかよくマッチしていると思いませんか？完全一致ではないですが、キラキラ具合といい色味といいだいぶ良く似ているので違和感なく仕上がったと思います。スタッズといいテープ使いといい、非常に「カシスっぽい」ネイルだなぁと自分で思う。いつもはデザインや色の選択でひとしきり悩むところを、このネイルに関してはほぼ即興で仕上げました。いつもこんなだといいんだけど。

Retro Geometrics Mani Using Pueen Love Elements Plate

I created the first design using Pueen Love Elements collection sent for review. Also, this is the first time I used Simply Neat Miracle Mat.

 I applied 2-3 coats of pink, blue, and camel on Simply Neat Miracle Mat and let them dry. Then I stamped a circle pattern from Pueen Love Elements 34-37 plate using black & white stamping polishes, peeled the decals off the mat, and cut them in triangles. I applied black on all my nails and while it's still slightly tacky, I placed those decals on each nail. Finished off with HK Girl topcoat, followed by Essie Matte About You.

 Some tips for those who want to recreate this look. You may want to apply few coats of polish on the mat to make it easier to cut later. Only 1 coat will be too thin to cut neatly, and too many coats will make the decal too thick and bulky. Also, allow them to dry thoroughly. I went for shopping while I had the decals drying, and came back to peel them off 2 hours later. 30 minutes will probably do, but it was really easy to cut straight when the decals are nice and stiff.

 This mani may look to be a colour blocking mani using tapes, but it's much more simple to create than that. With drying time aside, you can do this in 20 minutes. Well, I want all my manis to be like that!

Pueen Love Elementsコレクションを使ったネイルを１つ作成してみました。また、Simply Neat Miracle Matも初使用。出来上がりはこちら。

まず、Simply Neat Miracle Matにピンク、青、キャメルを２，３度塗りし、よく乾かす。Pueen Love Elements 34-37プレートの円形柄を黒と白でそれぞれスタンプし、マットからdecalを剥がして三角形に切り取る。decalを爪に乗せる少し前にベースの黒を塗り、ランダムに爪にdecalを配置したらHK GirlトップコートとEssie Matte About Youでフィニッシュ。

I went for retro, nostalgic colour combo. I'm so happy that these colours go so well together!

非常に簡単なネイルではあるのですが、コツがいくつかあります。マットにポリッシュを塗るときには2－３度塗りすることをお勧めします。１度塗りだと後で切るときに真っ直ぐ切りにくく、4度塗り以上だと爪に乗せたときに段差が出てカッコ悪いです。ピンクのEssieはシアーなので３度塗りしましたが、それでもちょっとベースの黒が透けてますね。

それから、decalを十分乾かすのも重要です。ポリッシュをマットに塗ってそのまま買い物に行き、マットから剥がしたのが約２時間後でした。おそらく３０分乾かせば大丈夫だと思いますが、きちんと乾いている方が綺麗に真っ直ぐ切れます。ただ、その分ベースの黒は乾ききっていない状態にしておかないとdecalがくっつきませんので注意。

このネイル、一見してテープを使ったカラーブロッキングネイルに見えたんじゃないでしょうか。動画を見てお分かりのように、テープを使うよりあっけないほど簡単です。decalを乾かす時間を除けば20分ぐらいでできると思います。色合わせに迷ったのですが、ちょっとノスタルジックなレトロっぽさを感じさせる色を選定。どれも王道色ではない、少しくすみがかった色でいいですね～。こういう感じのポリッシュ、今後揃えて行きたいです。

Cupcake & Ice Cream Mani

8th of this month was Chinese New Year, and 14th is Valentine's Day. I've already done manis for each theme (here and here), so what should I create next? I'm still uninspired and couldn't think of anything, so I decided to go through my plate collection and spotted a cute plate that I've been wanting to use for a long time - hehe 055.

 For this mani, I started off with 4 different colours, yellow, blue, pink & purple. Then I stamped a candy swirl pattern on MoYou London Princess 12 with Messy Mansion Chalk (white) for all nails. I used clear jelly stamper from Harunouta to stamp the swirl in the centre. Then I made stamping decals out of cupcakes & ice cream patterns on hehe 055 using Ya Qin An Chocolate (both available from Harunouta), coloured in with the same 4 colours used for base plus turquoise. Finished off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat, and mattified with Essie Matte About You afterwards.

 I first tried to do the swirl using nail vinyls instead of stamps, but it got a bit lumpy and didn't like how it came out. I hardly reach for symmetric stamp like this because I suck at stamping in the centre, but clear stamper changed all that.

 I don't know why though, but I really struggled in creating this mani. When I tried to stamp the swirl with clear stamper, white polish didn't adhere to my nails well. I tried MdU White, Ya Qin An White, Pueen Pure White, and finally Messy Mansion Chalk. This Messy Mansion did the best job. I painted my base colours in the morning before work, and did stamping at lunch break, so it could be because the base was really really dry. I also pressed too hard when transferring the image onto my nails, so the swirls got quite wavy. I don't know how many times I had to stop recording to redo the stamps, and felt really exhausted by the time I finish this mani. Ah well, at least it turned the way I wanted.

１週間の出張から戻り、久々のネイル作成。旧正月ネイルもバレンタインネイルもやったし、次は何しよう～？と思いつつプレートコレクションを眺めていると、ずっと前から使いたかった可愛いプレートを発見。出来上がりはこちら。

ベースは４色（黄色、青、ピンク、紫）。MoYou London Princess 12プレートのcandy swirl（ロリポップ柄？渦巻き柄？）をMessy Mansion Chalk（白）でスタンプ。爪の中央にスタンプするため、ここでは春の歌のクリアスタンパーを使っています。次にhehe 055プレートのカップケーキやアイスクリーム柄をYa Qin An Chocolate（どちらも春の歌より）でスタンプし、上の４色とターコイスを使って色付けしてdecal化。それぞれの爪に乗せる。Glisten & Glow HK Girlトップコートを塗ってからEssie Matte About Youでマット化。

It was a bit hard to stamp the full-size image with clear jelly stamper, because it's not squishy enough to accommodate my curvy nails. I didn't film the process, but I had to draw the missing lines with detail brush

このネイル、私がよくやる「ベーススタンプ＋decal」の何の変哲もないネイルなのですが、何故かとても苦労しました。渦巻き柄を白でスタンプするときにポリッシュが爪に張り付いてくれず、何度やり直したことかorz・・・ MdU White、Ya Qin An White、Pueen Pure Whiteと試して、最後に使ったMessy Mansion Chalkでどうにかこうにかスタンプ出来たという感じ。ベースのポリッシュは早朝に塗っておいてスタンピングは昼休みにやったのですが、ベースが乾きすぎていたのが原因なんだろうか？そのときの爪のコンディションとクリアスタンパーとの相性なのかなぁ。しかも柄を爪全体に転写するために強く押してしまい、渦巻きが波打ってしまったよ(-_-)ﾁｰﾝ
This hehe plate also has some cute toy images. I'll use them for another occasion :)

スタンプに失敗→カメラを止めて動画を消す→スタンプをセロテープで剥がす or ベースをやり直し・・というのを５回以上はやりました。しかも、今回はなぜかdecal化したスイーツ柄のスタンプまでてこずりました。「ピックアップできない柄はない」と思えるほど信頼している神スタンパー、Messy Mansion Soft Pinkでやってもですよ(-_-) heheプレートの彫りがやや浅めなのに加えて、Ya Qin An Chocolateの乾きが少し早いのと、40度近い気温の中扇風機をかけて作業していたという作業条件もあったのかもしれません。気温が高すぎてdecalにも気泡が入ってたしなぁ。

そんなわけで完成したときには疲労困憊。まぁまぁ、でも出来上がってホッとしましたよ。久々にマット化してみましたが、この方がなんとなく美味しそうですね。

Shopping Girl Mani Using FUN Plates

September 20th Update: I replaced the video at the end of this post with YouTube version.

 Last week was a bit crazy. My husband was away for a week on his business trip but on the way home, his car broke down in the middle of nowhere. I don't drive and that was the only car we had, so we quickly had to organise to buy a new car. It only took us one day to settle on a car we like, and we're now patiently waiting for it to arrive. I don't know much about a car, but it's Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that's designed for off-road drive. Sounds perfect for us living in the 'Bush'.

 Anyway, now that we did all the paper work for this car, I finally had time to paint my nails. I had to use my beautiful FUN plates again.

 Middle finger & ring finger: I started off with Elcorazon Charm & Beauty No. 856. Then I made a stamping decal from a square geometric pattern on Fab Ur Nails FUN17 plate using Ya Qin An White, coloured in with fresh green, blue & pink, and placed on those nails. Then I made a decal from shopping girl images from FUN19 plate using Ya Qin An Navy and placed on those nails also. I finished off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat.

 Thumb, pointer & pinkie: Process is the same except for shopping girl decal.

 I wanted to make something fun and colourful, to express the joy of shopping. I made it as if those shopping girls were trotting down colourful stairs in a fancy shopping mall. I bet those shopping bags are full of nail polishes, lucky girls! :P

9/20更新：記事最後の動画をYouTube版に置き換えました。

先週はバッタバタな１週間でした。出張に行っていた旦那殿が家に戻る途中、車が故障。自宅から300㎞以上離れた場所だったので、近くの町で廃車にして同僚に乗せてもらってようやく帰宅。うちには車が１台しかないのですが（私は運転はしない）、小さな田舎町に暮らす私たちにとって車の有無は死活問題。速攻レンタカーを借りてカーディーラー巡りをして、その日中に買う車を決めました。家の購入を決めたときも数時間のスピード契約でしたが（詳しくはこちら）、今回も速かったです。私は購入までにリサーチにリサーチを重ねるのが好きなのですが、旦那殿の決断の速さには本当に舌を巻きます。ちなみに車種はジープ・チェロキー・トレイルホークというオフロード車。未舗装道路を行ったり冠水した道路を走ることもある田舎暮らしの人間には最適のようで。

で、とりあえず書類をすべて提出して今納車待ちです。ほっと一息ついたのでようやく爪を塗る時間が取れました。今回はまたFUNプレートを使用。出来上がりはこちら。

イメージは「新宿ルミネで買い物を終えてうっきうきなショッピングガールズ」。女の子の下の柄はカラフルな階段のイメージです。もう何年も行ってませんが、新宿ルミネってこんな感じのカラフルな階段があったようななかったような。女の子の柄が可愛いのでカラフルでポップな感じにしてみました。

FUN plates have so many unique images and that's what I love about them!

買い物袋の中身は何かな？きっと大量のポリッシュでも入っているんでしょう（羨。FUNプレートはユニークかつ可愛い柄が多くて、色々楽しい組み合わせができます。「１枚のプレートでいろんなバリエーションが欲しい」という方には特にFUNプレートおすすめです。

My First Elcorazon Haul

The first thing I did when we settled in this new home in April was to order lots and lots of stuff online. Elcorazon, a Russian cosmetic store, was one of those places I placed an order back then, and it arrived only recently. Yes the order took 4 months to get here. Here's how the order went:

  • Paid: April 24
  • Shipped: unknown, but tracking appeared on May 19
  • Arrived: August 21

At the time of placing my order, the website was still in Russian and I had to use google translate to see what I was doing. Then, when I successfully placed an order, long wait started. I had to send a couple of emails just to get one answer, as it took so long to get a tracking number. I contacted again around the end of June asking about the status, but they couldn't get the answer from the post office and didn't know where the parcel was either. I decided that it was lost in transit and asked for a refund. They refunded me 2 months after shipment, and I placed a new order. Then, the parcel turned up almost 4 months after I paid! I contacted them, letting them know that the parcel arrived and I paid again. My new order has some duplicate items, but oh well.

 Anyway, enough rant. Let's see what I got.

4月に新居に引っ越したときに一番最初にしたことがネットでの大量の買い物だったとどこかで書きましたが、そのときにロシアのコスメストアElcorazonでも初オーダーしていました。ちょうどShimaさんとこっぴさんも初めてelcorazonで共同購入されたときと同じ時期で、「偶然だね、楽しみだね～♡」なんて話していたんですが。その４月のオーダーが約４か月後のつい先日届きました。注文から到着まではこんな感じ。
  • 支払い : 4/24
  • 発送 : 不明。ただし、追跡が表れたのが5/19
  • 到着 : 8/21
私が購入したときはサイトもまだロシア語で、Google翻訳で四苦八苦しながらオーダーしました。ようやくオーダーできたと思ったら、その後長～い沈黙が。「追跡番号はいつもらえるんでしょう？」と何度かメールしたりインスタにコメントしにいったりしてようやく発行してもらえたのが約３週間後。その後待てど暮らせど荷物は届かず。しびれを切らしてまた６月末ごろ「いったい荷物はどこにあるの？」とメール。これも何度かメールしてようやく来た返事が「郵便局に問い合わせているのですが返事が来ない。発送後２か月待って届かなかったら返金します」とのこと。その２か月が過ぎて再度問い合わせ、返金してもらいました。それをもって新たに再注文。早く届かないかな～と思っていたところにひょっこりと４月のオーダー到着。先方に届いた旨を知らせ、再度支払いました。再オーダーの内容が4月のオーダーと４点ほど被っているので損した気分orz

Here's swatch on stick. I picked a few colours to swatch on my nails also, which I'll show you later. Far left is thermal polish which is supposed to transition from light pink to light green, but I couldn't get much of a colour transition even after sticking my painted nails on hot water and cold water. A bit disappointed on this one. 

 Second from the left is 4 coats of black Aquarelle tints. Even after 4 coats, it's quite sheer. I might have to add few drops of black on this one. The remaining two cremes are 2 coats each, and apply beautifully.

まずはスティックにswatch。何本か選んで爪にも塗ったので後でお見せします。一番左がサーマルポリッシュで、気温によって薄ピンクから薄緑に変化するということなのですが、爪に塗って冷水に付けても温水に付けても大きな変化は見られず。ちょっとがっかりな１本。

その隣は黒のシアーティンツ４度塗り。４度塗りでもかなりシアーなので、黒のポリッシュを何滴か加えようかなぁと思っているところ。残りの２本はどちらも２度塗りでムラなく綺麗に仕上がります。


Here's next three. Far left is moss green holo and this is 3 coats. The remaining two are almost one-coater, but shown here are 2 coats.

一番左はモスグリーンのscatteredホロ、3度塗り。残りの２本は１度塗りでもいけるぐらいでしたが、これは２度塗り。


So this is the first one I chose to paint, Matte & Shine Effect 163. I wish they have a proper name rather than a number but anyway, it's a stunning colour. It has a satin look and so vibrant. This is 2 coats without topcoat.

最初に選んだのがこのMatte & Shine Effect 163。数字じゃなくて名前付けてくれると嬉しいんですがそれはまぁいいとして。とても目の覚める美麗な色です。サテンフィニッシュでこれで２度塗り、トップコートなし。


This is with topcoat. Excuse my crappy photo quality, but I love both looks.

こちらがトップコートあり。写真がイマイチですみません。トップコートありなしどっちもいい感じです。


Next up is Active Bio-gel 423/507 Nymph. This goes on rather sheer, but buildable. This is three coats. 

お次はActive Bio-gel 423/507 Nymph。ややシアーですが、３度塗りでしっかり発色。


Macro. I love how unique this colour is. This type of holo reminds me of Dance Legend Wow Prism collection that I adore.

マクロはこんな。ユニークな色ですね。大好きなDance LegendのWow Prismコレクションを思わせるホロ。


Last one is Active Bio-Gel 423/28 Prisma. The holo on this isn't strong, but it's nice and opaque. This is two coats.

最後がActive Bio-Gel 423/28 Prisma。ホロはあまり強くありませんが、２度塗りで綺麗に発色。

I also swatched the thermal polish, but I didn't like the photo quality so I'm not showing here. This order also included Cuticle Defender, another liquid latex product. I already have 3 liquid latex, and this one works similar. It has strong ammonia odour but I believe elcorazon released less-odour version recently.

これ以外にサーマルポリッシュも塗ったのですが、写真の出来がイマイチなので載せません。ちなみに、これらのポリッシュの他にリキッドラテックスのCuticle Defenderも買いました。その後に３つも届くことも知らず（爆。既に持っている３つのラテックス製品と働きはほぼ同じ。かなり強いアンモニア臭がしますが、elcorazonは最近ニオイを抑えたリキッドラテックスもリリースしています。

So there you have it. Not much photos but I just wanted to quickly post before I completely forget. My next order I placed about a month ago is still in Russia, so I'm expecting a long wait on that one as well.

そんな感じでいつもほど気合の入ったレビューでなくて恐縮ですが、あまりにも昔すぎていろいろ忘れかけているのでさっさとポストすることにしました。2回目のオーダーは既に１か月ほど経っているのですが、まだロシア国内に留まっている模様。こっちも長期戦を覚悟しています。
