31DC2014 - Half Moons: Overlapping Half Moon Mani

Thursday, September 18, 2014 8 Comments A+ a-

I find myself doing quite a few non-stamping manis lately. I have so many stamping plates that I just don't know which one to use, and I don't bring myself to doing just a simple stamping.

After few hours of consideration, I decided on this mani. I started off with Dior Addict 443 which I have owned for more than 10 years and using half moon french guide tips and masking tape, painted about 1/3 of each nail in one colour. I peeled the tapes off, let my nails dry, then placed another set of tips and tapes and painted with a different colour. I added the third colour to make it more interesting. I then added some stones I bought from an online shop in Japan for an elegant look. Well, it's a bit hard to explain, so please see my insta tutorial at the end of the post.

It turned out prettier than I expected! For this type of mani you have to layer over other colours, you need a very opaque polish. I used 3 polishes from MoYou London and they worked so well. I may grab more of their colours in the future!

Finished product with Seche Vite

I'm loving these MoYou London nail lacquers. I hardly use them as stamping polish,
but they are opaque and apply beautifully

Those ss3 stones are what I bought at a Japanese online shop and my mother sent over to me.
Only cost me $1 for 100pcs. Should have grabbed more!

ストーンは小指以外はss3のサイズを使っていますが、小指はss4、ss5も使っています。あまり大きさの違いが分からないですね^_^;

Tape manis are not easy sometimes and take patience, but I'm glad it turned out pretty!

teru-min。

I like the abstract quality and how they turned out.
How well do the MoYou polishes stam when you have tried them?

Thanks love! I couldn't imagine how it would turn out until it's all done :)
MoYou London polishes stamp great on the light base, but not on the dark base unfortunately. You can see the paper swatch on this post:

Yep, you're totally right! I hardly use them as stamping polishes because I have Mundos, but they are great as normal polishes :)
