Retro Spring Mani Using DRK XL Designer 1

I couldn't have much time for nail arts for the last couple of weeks, but finally sit down to create one the other day. I decided to use few of my untried, DRK XL Designer 1 plate, new Mundo de Uñas stamping polishes, and a Face of Australia polish.

For this mani, I started off with one coat of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, and stamped a floral/leaf pattern from DRK XL Designer 1 with Mundo de Uñas Light Gray on half of each nail. I then stamped another floral pattern from the same plate with Mundo de Uñas Purple on the other half of each nail. It doesn't really matter if the first and the second stamp overlap or not. Then, using the rose pattern from the same plate with Mundo de Uñas Dark Gray, I made a stamping decal and coloured in with Face of Australia Show Off (neon pink) and BC Co. shade 8 (soft pink), and placed on the random position of each nail. I finished off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat.

I actually got inspiration from a Google pic, but it ended up completely different both colour and design-wise. This colour scheme is out of my comfort zone, but this somehow retro & springy look started to grow on me. I had a short hospital visit yesterday, and all the nurses who treated me complimented my nails and that put smile on my face!

ここ数週間忙しくてネイルの時間が取れませんでしたが、先日無理やり時間を作って１つ仕上げました。出来上がりはこちら。

ベースは全爪Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet。DRK XL Designer 1から葉っぱのようなお花のような柄をMundo de Uñas Light Grayで爪の半分ほどにスタンプ。次に同じプレートのお花柄をMundo de Uñas Purpleで爪の残り半分ほどにスタンプ。この第１と第２のスタンプは重なっても重ならなくてもどちらでもかまいません。次に、同じプレートの薔薇柄をMundo de Uñas Dark Grayでスタンプし、decalを作成。色付けにはFace of Australia Show Off (ネオンピンク)とBC Co. shade 8 (柔らかいピンク)を使用し、各爪のランダムな位置に配置。仕上げはGlisten & Glow HK Girlトップコート。

今回初使用のものがいろいろあります。DRKのプレート、Mundoグレー２本、それからこの手に持っているFace of Australia。セールで１ドルだったので買ってみました。ネオンってあまり塗らないのですが、元気な感じになっていいですね～。今回のネイルはちょっと色あせたレトロのような雰囲気もあり、お花満載で春っぽさもあり、いつも使わない色の組み合わせがなかなか気に入りました。

What do you think of the colour combo? Definitely not 'me' colours, but I'm surprisingly liking them!

実は昨日の午前中、全身麻酔を伴う簡単な手術があったのですが、入れ替わり立ち替わりやってくるナースたちが皆「素敵なネイルね！」と誉めてくれて心が和みました。左手の甲に麻酔用注射針を入れられ、口にも麻酔用マスクを装着されて、麻酔でコテンと寝る直前までナースたちに「どうやってやったの？」「どうしたらそんな長く爪伸ばせるの？」と質問攻めされる私ｗ また別の機会があったらゆっくり教えますのでｗｗ

More Experiment on Stamping Decals over Dark Base

I have so many nail art ideas in mind that my painting routine and blogging schedule can't keep up with it! This is a mani that was on my nails earlier this week.

 I tried stamping decals on dark base for the first time with this mani, and wanted to experiment a little bit more.

 For this mani, I started off with 2 coats of Face of Australia Jafar, then made stamping decals from MoYou London Explorer 03 using Mundo de Uñas Gold. For colouring the decals, I used Kleancolor Metallics and Joss nail polishes (bottle shot shown below). I added round gold studs and finished off with Seche Vite.

 I reckon it looks quite fancy. I'm thinking of experimenting more to achieve a nice colour combo that really pops in the dark background.

 BTW, this mani and the last constellation mani was taken at night in the lightbox. I'm so loving it!! Some photos give slightly different looks depending on whether I take them near the front hole or near the wall, but hopefully I'll  find my go-to position to give consistent photo quality.

毎日何時間もネイルアイデアを考えているせいで、アイデアはいろいろあるのに塗装と記事アップがなかなか追いついていきません。このネイルは今週頭にしていたものです。以前に「黒ベースにスタンピングdecal」を初めてやってみましたが、もっと違う柄と色合いでやってみたいと思って作成したのがこちら。

マクロショット。このExplorerのプレート大好きです。細い線で成り立っている柄なので色付けに最適。

The Daiso topcoat I got in Japan (left) is my holy-grail decal making topcoat. Look how low it is now!!
I used Essence clear polish this time, and it worked almost as good. Phew!

ちなみにdecal作りには普段、左のダイソートップコートを使っています。一番安いトップコートだから使い始めたのですが、これがdecal作りに最適なトップコートだと後で気づきました。Revlonとか他のでやると硬くなりすぎて爪に乗せるときにうまく乗らないのです。でも見てこれ・・・もう３０％ぐらいしか残ってないよ、ヤベー！(；▽；) と思い、試しに右のEssenceのクリアポリッシュ（トップコートじゃない普通の）を買って今回試してみました。ダイソーのほどではありませんが、これもなかなかイイ感じです。ほっ。

BTW, I love this FoA Jafar. It only takes 2 coats and super glossy on its own

このFace of AustraliaのJafarですが、Dark Sideというコレクションからの１本です。２度塗りでOKで、クリームなのにジェリーかのようなツルンとした仕上がりです。単色塗りでも綺麗。

それと、前回書き忘れましたがこのネイルと前回の星座ネイルは夜にライトボックス内で撮影したものです。塗ってすぐ撮れるっていうのが本当に嬉しい(；▽；) ライトボックスの入り口付近で撮るか奥の壁の近くで撮るかで多少感じも違ってきますが、自分の好きなポジションを見つけて同じクオリティの写真を載せられればなと思います。

そんな感じで「ダークベースにdecal」実験第２弾でした。もう少し、着物柄みたいに目に鮮やかな感じの色合いになるよう今後も試行錯誤していきます(｀・ω・´)キリッ

Good-bye Summer! Beach Sand mani

I thought it was only a few weeks ago that I was complaining about the heat here. This morning when I got up, it was 8 degrees. I couldn't help but feel that summer is almost gone and autumn is coming.

I regret not doing one single summer nails - I was too busy putting on holographics to make the most of the sun. So here it is, my first summer themed mani this year - beach sand mani.

I recently picked up my first Face of Australia nail polish from Big W. It was on sale and only cost me AUD$3.75. I picked up 'Ferris Wheel', a textured polish, and was itching to use it!

For this mani I did the sponged gradient with Ferris Wheel and Zoya Tomoko, then added some studs and shells. I couldn't believe how the gradient is soo easy with textured polishes! I really need more textured in my life. I only have three.

I love my first summer nail, I miss summer already.

急速に秋の訪れを感じるようになりました。今朝の気温８度。ちょっと前まで４０度超えてなかったっけ？「夏ももう終わりか・・」と寂しい気分になるとともに、夏ネイルを１つもやっていなかったことに気付きました。

今からでも遅くないよね！ってことで今回のテーマは「砂浜ネイル」です。出来上がりはこちら。

右から２番目のポリッシュ、piCture pOlishみたいなボトルですが、Face of Australiaというオージーブランドです。ザリザリ系。

これとZoya Tomokoでスポンジグラデーションしています。ザリザリのグラデーション、超絶楽チンなんですけど！(ﾟ∀ﾟ) 三角スポンジにたっぷり塗って爪に１度ポンポンと付けるだけでしっかり色が乗りました。

いろいろ乗せすぎ？スタッズと貝殻はBorn Pretty Storeで購入。結構前に買ってあったのですが今回初めて使用しました。こんなに大きい突起物を爪に乗せるのは初めて。これはトップコート塗る前なのですぐぽろっと落ちそうですね^_^;

薬指のヒトデはフリーハンドです。Color Club Cosmic Fate（ホロ）を使用。ヒトデ色のオレンジ系ポリッシュが他になくてですね(ﾟ∀ﾟ;)

ザリザリな質感、結構好きなんですがスタッズと貝殻が取れるといけないのでトップコートを追加。波打ち際に転がる貝殻、海面に反射する陽の光・・・（ハワイのビーチを妄想中）

With topcoat, it looks like sun shining on the sea surface. Love! 

それにしてもザリザリポリッシュの汎用性の高さには驚くばかりです。グラデーションにもいいし、スタンピングのベースにもいいし、ザリザリなエフェクトでいろいろ遊べるし。まだ３本しか持ってないんですが、これから積極的に買い足して行こうと思います。

というわけで砂浜ネイル、いかがでしたでしょうか＼(^o^)／ カシスは非常に満足です♪ 夏ネイル、日本の夏の季節にまたやりたいと思います♪( ´▽｀)
