Eerie Forest Mani Featuring Picture Polish 'eerie'

June 20th Update: I replaced the video at the end of this post with YouTube version.

FLASH NEWS. Our chickens finally lay the very first egg! :D Oh boy, you should all see my excitement when I found the egg lying in the cage. I even rang my husband at work just to be told that he couldn't talk because he was at a meeting. LOL! This happened Friday last week and today we've got another one! WooHoo! At the same time, I saw a shocking thing. It happened so quickly but I think one hen just laid an egg in front of me and in a matter of seconds, all the chickens started pecking on it and ate it all... even shells. I couldn't believe my eyes and by the time I called out to my husband (today is national holiday so he was at home), the whole egg was gone. Looks like two hens laid one egg each just today, and one was sitting there safe (which we took out) but the other one they decided to eat. How did that happen?? We fried the egg that we took out on Friday and it was so yummy. We noticed that the shell was quite hard compared to store-bought eggs, so maybe they couldn't peck on it? Don't know.

Anyway, onto today's mani. Today's mani was inspired by a polish name. The polish I used is Picture Polish 'eerie'. Now, 'eerie' is not the word I use often in real life, but the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this name was 'eerie forest'. I had my eyes on the cute animal silhouette stamps on Bundle Monster Secret Garden collection, and decided to use them.

For this mani, I started off with Picture Polish eerie, and painted Sinful Shine Steel Reserve near free edge on middle & ring finger. I stamped a leaf pattern from Bundle Monster BM-702 plate using Mundo de Uñas Spring Green three or four times near free edge, to represent grass. Then I stamped vine pattern from the same plate using my dear friend Coppi's franken 'Coral' on the top half of those nails. Finally I made a decal out of Bambi stamp (same plate) and Thumper stamp (BM-724) and placed on middle & ring fingers respectively. For other nails, I made butterfly decals out of BM-718.

OK, where's eerie forest?? It looked more like a fairy forest than eerie. LOL! I still like the look though. I haven't done this type of cuteish manis for a long time, and my friends on Instagram seemed to be surprised about how different it is to my normal manis. I really adore this and will be doing more of this type of manis. The only frustrating thing was that I had difficulty transferring images from the butterfly plate (BM-718), and I could only get 1 good stamp out of 5 tries. Such a pity coz it's a pretty plate.

Finished product, with Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat.
It was a cloudy day and I couldn't get a sunny shot

Pity I couldn't get a sun shot, but look at this bottle shot. It not only contains holo flakies,
but some beautiful shimmers as well

I have to admit that I didn't know the Disney rabbit was called Thumper (I knew Bambi though).
I intended it to be a normal forest animal mani, but looks like it reminded most people of Disney character mani

There are lots of cute stamps on Bundle Monster Secret Garden, and I can't wait to use it again.
Maybe not the troublesome butterfly plate though!

Here is the first egg we collected. Isn't it huge!? It's actually bigger than the store-bought ones!

Thanks hunni! I enjoyed creating this scenery mani, even thought it didn't come out as eerie as I had hoped :D

We have 3 hens, and one of them is quite big! I bet she is the one laying this big egg, because we're getting three sorts of eggs from 3 hens, big egg (shown in photo), smaller normal colour egg, and smaller green colour (!?) egg. They taste the same though, they are so yummy!

We have roosters too, and they are the ones that are keen on egg eating. I think the york is too yummy for them to resist :( I feed them lots of shells so the hens lay strong-shell eggs, also I check with them every 2 hours, so I can get the eggs out before getting eaten :)
