Water Spotted Halloween Mani with YouTube Tutorial

Halloween manis are popping up everywhere at this time of the year, so I pulled my Halloween plate out and created the first Halloween mani for 2014.

I started off with BC Co. shade #26 and Ciate hopscotch (for ring finger and thumb), and using a cup of water, BC Co. shade #31, and a toothbrush dipped in acetone, made a water spotted effect and dipped my fingers in the water. I let my nails dry and stamped bats and pumpkin images from Chez Delaney Halloween 002 plate using Mundo de Uñas Black. I finished off with Seche Vite. Again, I made a YouTube tutorial that you can find at the end of this post.

When I made a prototype of this mani, the water spotted effect looked like a spiderweb and thought this would make a perfect base for Halloween mani. Unfortunately the finished product is less spiderweb-like, so I might have another go again very soon. Some people use hairspray for this technique, but I don't have any, so I used toothbrush and acetone. This idea comes from my friend Coppi's blog. I can't find the blog post but she shared this 4-5 months ago. Seriously, her blog is so full of useful information!!

10月に入り、ネイルコミュニティはハロウィンネイルが溢れていますね。というわけで私も今季初のハロウィンネイルを作成してみました。出来上がりはこちら。

Finished product, with Seche Vite

ベースはBC Co. shade #26 と Ciate hopscotch (親指と薬指)。カップの中に室温の水を用意し、BC Co. shade #31を２滴たらして古い歯ブラシをアセトンに付けて滴を水面に何度か飛ばします。模様ができたら指を水に突っ込んで模様を爪に付ける。いわゆるWater Spottedテクニックです。MoYouの５月コンテスト中に1回やったことありますが、あのときは模様がうまくできませんでした。

このテクニックはヘアスプレーを使う人が多いのですが、私持っていません（汗。何か他に使えるものはないかな？と思っていたら、「爪爪爪 - THE趣味ネイル -」のこっぴさんが以前、アセトンと歯ブラシを使ったテクニックをブログで公開されていました（肝心の記事が見つからずリンクが貼れずすみませんT_T）。やってみたらうまく模様ができた～！＼(^o^)／ こっぴさん、いつも素敵なアイデアをありがとうございます♡

Water spottedの模様ができたら爪を乾かし、Chez Delaney Halloween 002プレートとMundo de Uñas Blackを使用してこうもりとパンプキンをスタンプ。Seche Viteでフィニッシュ。

今回のネイル、プロトタイプをまず作ってみたらこのエフェクトが蜘蛛の巣っぽく出来上がったので、「ハロウィンネイルにぴったりじゃん(ﾟ∀ﾟ)」と思ったのです。肝心の本番では蜘蛛の巣っぽさが少し薄れてしまったので、また近いうちにリベンジしたいなと。
